The Worldwide Eisa Festival is held with three concepts: “Umui (heart/prayer),” thoughts of the island, life, and loved ones; “Chimudon (stirring, emotional music), giving a performance that makes the heart leap; “Shinkanuchaa (exchange/friendship),” the birth of new friendships and a new self. It is a festival for all Eisa groups worldwide, and their fans, to meet.
沖繩傳統舞蹈EISA, 其中以沖繩中部的太鼓EISA最流行, 作為島上最古老的傳統, 據說起源於17世紀, 由琉球國王所賞識的袋中上人所唱的佛典"念佛舞" 而來, 不過亦有說是15世紀的朝鮮李氏已有那霸的記錄可證明EISA.
